Ray's pajama bottoms

I made these pajama bottoms for Ray for Christmas. The material is a really soft flannel. I know the color is a little boring, but I think Ray will like them. I will probably make some kind of shirt to go with it. I think I'd like to make the shirt in a coordinating color with the leftover blue in the collar or sleeves. I'm not sure yet.

Pajamas

A few days ago, I spent the day teaching my oldest daughter Beth Ann and my dear friend's oldest daughter Emily to sew. Unfortunately, Emily made a small error with her fabric which made it so that she couldn't use that fabric for her pattern. Luckily, I had another cut of flannel fabric with ladybugs on it, so all was not lost! I played around with the original fabric and was able to salvage it and make a pair of pajamas for Beth Ann. She's thrilled with them, so everything turned out good in the end! Isn't she cute?

More kid's crafts

I'm really trying to teach my children the joy of gift giving. Too many people have this real dread about gift giving, and I love it! I don't want my kids to grow up and think it's a chore. I want them see it as a way to celebrate the people they are giving gifts to. The kids are going to a birthday part tomorrow for two brothers who they have known all their lives. Ray came up with these gifts - well, I helped, but he chose the shirts and the material for the appliques. He also helped with the designs, etc. I hope the boys like them. Then, we went upstairs to pick out gift bags for the presents, and I realized that the only "boyish" bags we have are Harry Potter bags. Ray didn't want to use those, so I let him dig through my material stash and pick out some material for the gift bags for the boys. I love the material he chose. Here are the shirts:

Kids' Crafts

The girls recently made necklaces for a couple of their friends who were having birthdays (with Mom's help, of course!). We went to a locally owned bead store to get the supplies. They picked out all the things the wanted on the necklaces, and here are the results!

Olivia's necklace was a little simpler (she's only 5!). She picked out a pretty butterfly charm, and then pink, blue, and clear crystal seed beads to go around it. I think it turned out really pretty! She was happy with the results.

Beth Ann's necklace was a charm necklace. She picked out 7 different charms that all had different meanings. The horse represented the girl's spirit, the heart in the envelope was because she was sweet, the guitar was because she rocked, etc. I can't remember what they all stood for, but she wrote it all down in a card for her.

Baby Sling

I finished up a baby sling yesterday, and I love it! I got this fabric at Denver Fabric a couple of months ago. I love it. My husband modeled it for me because it looked better with his t-shirt than with my very loud maternity shirt that I was wearing! LOL. Louis approved. He actually begged me to take him for a walk in it. :-)

More cloth wipes

With all the chaos of Trey being laid off and me doing temp work, crafty things have pretty much been put on hold. Finally though, with Trey having a job, and me trying to get things back to normal, I have pulled out the crafts again! Yesterday, I whipped up some flannel wipes for Baby T out of the left over flannel from pajama making. It's not much, but it's a start!

Valentine's Day cards

A couple of weeks ago, when I was sick and stuck in bed, I entered a bunch of blog giveaways. I won one! It was a card kit. I put it together tonight for the kidlets for Valentine's Day tomorrow. I think they turned out pretty cute. How perfect is this? It came with a little chocolate kit with FOUR chocolates in it! Perfect. The company the stuff came from is called The Angel Company. I'd never heard of it before, but I like their stuff.
